Role Overview:
As a Finance Analyst, you will play a crucial role in providing financial insights and analysis to support key business decisions. You will work closely with cross-functional teams across aerospace, defense, and space projects, ensuring financial compliance, managing budgets, and offering actionable recommendations to improve operational performance. Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Analysis & Reporting: Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including budget variance analysis and forecasting, to support senior management in decision-making.
- Budgeting & Forecasting: Assist in the development and management of budgets and forecasts, ensuring alignment with project goals, timelines, and business objectives.
- Cost Control: Track and analyze costs across projects and programs, identifying opportunities for cost optimization and efficiency improvements.
- Project Financial Support: Provide financial support to project managers by analyzing project performance, tracking costs, and ensuring that financial targets are met.
- Contract Financial Management: Work closely with contract managers to review financial aspects of government contracts, ensuring compliance with pricing, cost structures, and financial reporting requirements.
- Internal & External Audits: Support the preparation for internal and external audits, ensuring financial records are accurate, compliant, and up-to-date.
- Risk Management: Identify financial risks and assist in developing strategies to mitigate them while ensuring project success and profitability.
- Continuous Improvement: Contribute to process improvements within the finance team, streamlining reporting, budgeting, and forecasting procedures to increase efficiency.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field. CFA, CPA, or similar professional qualifications are a plus.
- Experience: At least 2-3 years of experience in financial analysis, preferably within aerospace, defense, or space industries. Experience with government contracts is highly desirable.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Excel (advanced), and experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Deltek) and financial modeling software.
- Analytical Mindset: Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and present findings clearly.
- Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in all financial reporting and analysis.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present financial data to both financial and non-financial stakeholders.
- Security Clearance: Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance may be required, depending on project assignments.
